Orlando, Fla. – February 25, 2014 – Banco do Brasil Americas has named Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning and Design as its architect of record for its first branch office in Orlando.
Banco do Brasil plans to open a 4,000-square-foot branch at 5575 International Drive by the end of the year. The bank will serve millions of Brazilian tourists as well as a growing Brazilian community in Central Florida.
“Being Brazilian I understand the importance of Banco do Brasil to the Brazilian community. It is a great honor to be able to work with Banco do Brasil in the design of this new prototype. This bank reflects both the growth of our business as well as a surging growth of the Brazil business community in the Orlando area,” partner Fulvio Romano said.
The bank will have two international ATMs where Brazilian customers will be able to access their international accounts instantly. The design and façade of the building will showcase contemporary Brazilian architecture despite facing challenges in building with American materials and methods of construction.

“The challenging part of this project was featuring a Brazilian style building with American methods of construction and materials,” said Romano, whose family is from São Paulo, Brazil. “Keeping Banco do Brasil’s identity was paramount to us and we’re happy that the final design.”
Rabits & Romano will be partnering directly with Florida Engineering Group on the project.
