New sports complex and soccer education center proposed for youth athletes in
Orlando, Fla. - Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning & Design has been selected to handle the architectural design for the new Ronaldo Soccer Academy in southwest Orlando.
The new sports facility is proposed for a nearly five acre parcel at President Barack Obama Pkwy. and L.B. McLeod Road. Ronaldo Soccer Academy franchises are typically geared toward children between four to eighteen years of age.
“We are very excited to be able to design the new Ronaldo Academy, we have many Ronaldo fans in the office,” said Rabits & Romano Partner Fulvio Romano, who is proud to be contributing to Orlando’s expanding soccer landscape.
Romano describes the vision for the academy’s design as “whimsical while stoic. The objective is to create a clubhouse for the fields that will represent the branding for the complex. The design concept was a subtle representation of the sport, with facades designed with movement and play. The building interacts with the complex by having a viewing area that connects the field with the cafe. The complex will be a 'temple' to soccer, with all spaces designed to support and promote the 'beautiful game'”.
The plans for the academy include four fields to be used for games and training sessions. The facility would also have a 4,316-square-foot clubhouse housing a café, locker rooms, meeting room and support services. Rabits & Romano has joined forces with Florida Engineering Group toward the completion of the Ronaldo Soccer Academy project.
